Are you wondering what are the best jobs for freelancers in 2021?
You want to work remotely for private clients, but you don’t know what to offer? You’re on the right article.

I’ll show you what are, in my opinion, the 5 best career that you can pursue, simply do from home.

2021 will be a smashing year for digital nomads, mostly because following the pandemic, working from home became the new normal.
Nowadays, companies are more prepared to hire remote workers worldwide, and this behavior will spread to many industries.

If you want to know more about it, you can check this article I’ve written on the topic.

I usually receive questions like, “What service could I offer to my potential clients?” or “What are the best work-from-home jobs?”

Let’s tackle the root of the problem: whatever service you choose to offer, it better be specific.
The time of “I can do everything for you” is long gone.
If you’re a freelancer and reach out to potential clients making a general proposal, you will convince no one.

I get plenty of calls for help from entrepreneurs who don’t know how to convince clients.
When I ask them to check the emails they send to their prospects, 9 times out of 10 are copy/paste messages.
The classic example is the digital agency that sends generic messages about helping with everything, from websites to business cards.

If I receive a message like that, I trash it immediately, if it didn’t end up in the spam folder by default.

Your services need to be highly targeted.
If you design only business cards, you are the person I will call when I need business cards.

Let me give you a specific example in a different industry.
I’m allergic to restaurants that do everything. You check the menu, and they serve pizza, as well as chicken wings and pad thai.

That sends a strong message that says, “We don’t do anything properly.”
If I want a great pizza, I go to a place where they do just pizza.
Well, this isn’t a great example if I think about Pizza Hut… 🤔

Well, you got the point. Find a specific niche.
The more detailed, the better.

Anyway, let’s get into the 5 best high-demand jobs for freelancers that you can do from home in 2021.

#1 UX/UI Designer

Web Design is an evergreen industry, but UX/UI design is the new big thing. Well, maybe the word “new” isn’t the right one since UX/UI Design has been around for a while now.

UX stays for User experience, and UI means User Interface.
Are you already confused/bored, right? To put it simply, it’s about making an app or an online platform simple to use and visually appealing.

There’s a lot more to it, but it’s graphic design applied to apps, web apps, and software.

Companies are regularly looking for UX/UI designers, especially in areas where UX design is still a new thing.

If you’re a designer or a web designer, I suggest you take a look at this niche. There are plenty of courses online.

#2 Developer

Programming is one of the most in-demand careers in the world.
Since almost every business, startups, and creative project need a UX/UI designer for their platforms, at the same time, they need qualified professionals to code that design.

If you want to succeed as a freelance developer, you need to find out the most in-demand coding languages, like Python, Ruby, Java, Swift…

Find a code language that is popular at the moment, and learn it. There are plenty of websites that teach you how to code.

#3 Photographer

Even if nowadays you have plenty of apps that allow you to add filters to horrible photos and make them movie posters, there’s never been more need for photographers.

The reason is that every person who wants to have a strong online identity needs professional photoshoots. Periodically.

In my case, I take a photoshoot every other month to refresh the list of pictures I can use for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
All the pictures that you see on my website are taken by professional photographers.
It doesn’t matter how many apps I use; nothing matches the quality of a real photographer.

It’s expensive to buy the tools you need to start, but it’s possible to repay your investment quickly.

#4 Ads Expert

Every business, company, and entrepreneur who wants to scale its revenue will have to handle online ads sooner or later.

But there are plenty of platforms where to run ads, and each one responds to different rules. Creating an ad on YouTube is different from creating one for Facebook.
On top of this, you need to spend plenty of time to get the hang out of them.

It’s way more efficient to hire an expert who manages your ads, than doing everything yourself.
The is a massive demand for Ads experts, and they will be more and more essential.

#5 Translator

Do you speak 2 languages or more? In this case, you can become a freelance translator!
You have no idea how many messages I receive to create videos or courses in Italian, my mother language.
I could get paid just to do that, since being a freelance translator is a well-paid online job.

Several companies, startups, and content creators need translators to translate the content. It helps businesses to have more sales and bring customers.
